This month, we welcome 12 young people as the third cohort of BCP Council's supported interns working with Children’s Services as they start their employment journey.
For the first three weeks, the interns have been settling in to their roles at the Civic Centre, getting to know what it is like to be a BCP Council employee. They have also started their qualifications that they will complete along side their work placements.
Following this, the interns have received job descriptions for the work placements when they will join various BCP Council departments, learning valuable transferable work skills. As always, the interns are supported by the wonderful onsite team and job coaches to learn their job tasks, and to integrate into the teams.
With a bumper year of applications, we are looking for more business areas to be hosts for them. Previous years mentors have gained so much and have given extremely positive feedback on the benefits an intern brings to the team. Please contact programme lead Helen Lewis (helen.lewis@bcpcouncil.gov.uk) if you would like to be involved.
If you see them in the Civic Centre, please say hello!
