An interns point of view - starting Project Search

Starting at BCP Council as an intern

The staff at BCP Council were very good to me and were friendly and welcoming towards me. It was good to see them all and I really enjoyed it because it gave me a chance to see how their rotations work out so I can learn more of what I might do during my time on the internship.

The interns have rotation placements including working at amusement arcade and Ted-Webster children's centre, where they gain new skills to use in their careers/jobs in the years to come.

The newspaper team

Newspaper group Joseph, Tommy, Harry and Hayden are writing a newsletter about Project Search and how it can help young people with an education health care plan to get all the skills they need for getting into employability for jobs and careers so they are ready for real world.

The amusement arcade team

Dom has chosen two interns to work at the amusement arcade; Harrison and Scott and they have been following daily tasks set out by the other staff and they get on with the job and they work hard like everyone else at the amusement arcade.

The Ted Webster team

Nathaniel and Vicky have been at Ted Webster and they have been working well as a team and enjoy working there and keeping busy. They can travel there by themselves independently.

Interns job coach

The interns are supported by job coaches on their rotations to see how they are doing and if they need any help with any work they are doing .

Looking to the future

I am now looking forward to finding out about more opportunities for jobs and careers in the future.

I would like to gain experience that will help me go out there by myself and find a job I like.
