BCP Council

Congratulations to the second cohort of BCP Supported Interns that graduated on Monday 15 July.

This years interns have been a great success for their rotation areas and BCP Council as a whole. The programme has grown from four rotation areas to 24. Of the seven interns, three are leaving with paid employment and the others are actively applying for and having interviews for local jobs.

Business areas in BCP Council have been overwhelmingly supportive of the interns, quoting that the programme has been a great success, and colleagues wondering how they would have managed without them.All areas have shown passion for supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and have helped them develop independent skills whilst creating a warm and positive environment for them to learn in.

For the third cohort, starting in September 2024, we have enrolled our largest cohort yet, with 12 young people starting the programme with us.If business areas would like to get involved, please do get in contact with supportedinternships@bcpcouncil.gov.uk.
